Look University: Philadelphia

Look University team members set down with Philadelphia's Mayor John
Street to discuss how we can partner and address the culture of violence
that is over taking our community. I appreciate the Mayors heart to
explore these new and innovative concepts that we have and look forward
to the day that I can say, "together we helped save lives and bring
hope back to our youth".

Fwd: Breast Cancer Awareness

This weekend in Oakland, I will be supporting a play called "Touch"that deals with a heartbreaking love story of a young man and his young wife fighting against the evil that is breast cancer. This is a recent true story of David and Tiffany Dunson.

Every man or woman who love and cares for the women, who have built and
carried our community, stood by us, and loved us through it all, should
attend this play to help spread the word and create awareness about
this
evil disease that is killing our women.

The play is Saturday February 24 at 7pm and Sunday February 25 at 5pm at
the Scottish Rite
1547 Lakeside Drive Oakland, Ca

All American Breakfast For Presidents Day

Jeremiah (my middle son) 9 years old and I enjoy a Father Son breakfast
for Presidents Day. While I pray for the Troops safe and swift return
and disagree with my Commander And Chief on strategy, I lift him up in
prayer and support the War On Terror. His job is not an easy one. Being
critical is easy. Requires no real effort at all. I pray for his
strength, health and peace of mind. I pray for his heart, that his heart
is warm towards life and sensitive towards the pain and lost of life by
his word, in the cause of freedom and democracy.

We are living in the most unique period in the history of the world.
World War 3 looms. The earth is sick and soon will begin to release and
pass it's pain in the form of quakes, floods, hurricanes, eruptions and evil winds and storms like never before seen and in non historical places. On this day while we celebrate
Presidents Day, and others posture to become the next President, one must
remember, the job will become much tougher in the years to come. Temper
your ambitions with compassion.

Our House Is A Home

I love these trees (plants). They are 90% water and they multiply
themselves continously. Each of these groups started off as one plant.
The more you cut them back, the taller and stronger they grow....

In life, it is the moments that we are cut back, that we should look
forward to new growth in our lives. Bigger, better, stronger and
multiplying ourselves by sharing what we have learned with others....

Grammys, Mary J, and Gayle King

The Grammies were a blast! The party's more so than the show itself. Like all great events the build up in most cases surpass the actual event (see Super Bowl). The party of parties this year goes to the Mary J. party that was thrown by Will and Jada Smith in honor of Mary. Who's who was in the house! The setting, the ambiance, and the joy in the air was electric. Chris Tucker and I joked around, Mary J her husband and I danced, and Vivica Fox and Mario and I took it back to the old school. Vivica looked marvelous! Stevie Wonder held court and Tyreese and Nick Cannon was holding it down for the young bloods. Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow and the So So Def family was in the house as well. I chopped it up with with Judge Mathis and got a little dance in with my old friend Jada. The list goes on and on.

Just when I thought the party was over and while everyone was leaving, I went to grab one last glass of water and I was suddenly approached by this lovely woman in a gorgeous black dress. She complimented me on my dancing and said she had no idea I could still move like that. I thanked her and then she promptly introduced her self as Gayle King. I told her I know whom she is and I knew from the moment she walked up to me. The room was basically emptied at this point and I began to engage Gayle in a detailed conversation about me and how I think she has a misunderstanding of who I am based on a quote from her that I once read. Well, we talked for an extended period of time and I found Gayle King to be a wonderful woman. She allowed me to express my opinion and never did she lose eye contact or drift away. She got me. I went from venting to admiring this brilliant woman. She disarmed me with the windows to her soul, her deep dark eyes. There was something there that I couldn't shake. They gave me the warm feeling one would get from an old trusted friend. So I let go and offered my hand and heart in friendship to Gayle. The world may never be the same. The beautiful thing is we may not agree and see everything the same way but we both have our honest opinions and have an ear to hear.
