Fifty Cents..Master P

Hip Hop as a culture is maturing. It will take time for the industry that markets and distributes the music to catch up but it will happen. The industry is slow to react but it does happen in time. These two brothers deserve compliments for this example and exchange.

That was really nice to watch that they could come together after the so called beef they had. And that Rappers are seeing that you don't have to have all of the profanity and vulgar lyrics in the music.

It surprised alot of people when Prince stopped using profanity and singing the sexual content of his songs. He changed words to fit the person that he is today.

At some point u have to grow up and acceptable responsibility for this generation coming up today, whether they believe it or not, they are role models and the kids are watching them.

So hopefully this can be a start to many other beefs that are going on in the hip hop community.

Thanks 4 sharing that with us Hammer!

I agree with you Anita 100%.

Rapper shouldn't have to use profanity and vulger words to get their point across.

I really admire MasterP for coming out with this CD.

I hope that it goes platinum so that other hardcore rappers can see that you don't have to use profanity or vulger words in your music lyrics to get your point across.

I think i may go to Wal-mart and pick up a copy of his new CD (LOL).

I watched a You Tube video with Mos Def on a show with (Bill?) Maher and Cornell West. Someone left a comment that Cornell looked "clownish". Compared to his normal demeanor he did.

Watching a CNN video of Mos Def being interviewed on the same subject~rally in Jena LA, I wanted to say he seemed lost on how to express himself without using street language.

He did stumble his way to getting the same message across, but I kind of like the way he expressed it on Maher's show better.

But do agree rap needs to grow up and be better role models for the kids.

how was your meeting with Shoemoney

I always hated hip-hop in general because of it's profanity and lack of any real educational benefit. As entertainment it's probably laughable for adults, but for kids, it's just down right poison.

It's good to see both of these guys do a segment on Rap City TV show that promotes hip hop to grow up. Thank you Hammer for blogging about it. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
